State Treasurer Lynn Rogers Announces Staffing Changes

TOPEKA – Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Rogers announced today three staffing changes for the Kansas State Treasurer’s Office.

Jennifer Goetz has been named the interim Assistant State Treasurer, Ashley Motley has been named Director of Strategic Communications, and Mac Cook has been named Legislative & Special Projects Director.

“All three of these staff members have a passion for helping Kansans, and the talent and experience to help us do great things. I am incredibly proud of the work we have already been able to accomplish, and I am confident that we will be able to continue effectively and efficiently serve the people of Kansas,” said Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Rogers.

Goetz has served the State of Kansas Treasurer’s Office as Director of Marketing and Communications since the appointment of Treasurer Rogers in January 2021. Prior to moving to the Treasurer’s Office, Goetz was the Multimedia Marketing Coordinator for Azura Credit Union. Over the course of her career, she has also done work for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the Kansas Historical Society, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

Goetz has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kansas, a Master of Business Administration from Baker University, and is a member of the Leadership Greater Topeka class of 2021. She was recently recognized as a Topeka “Top 20 Under 40” Honoree. Additionally, Goetz is currently serving on the YWCA Governance Committee, as a board member for the Kansas Ballet Academy, and as chapter President for the American Advertising Federation.

Ashley Motley has been named the Director of Strategic Communications for the State of Kansas Treasurer’s Office. Motley joined the office as the Communications Manager for in September 2021. Prior to working for the Treasurer’s Office, Motley was the Assistant Director and Liaison to the College of Arts and Sciences for the Kansas State University Career Center. Motley returned to Kansas in 2016, after working in Tampa, FL at the University of South Florida Office of Career Services. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and minor in Leadership Studies from Kansas State University. Motley completed a Master of Education from the University of South Florida.

Mac Cook just joined the staff this week as the Director of Legislative Priorities and Special Projects for the State of Kansas Treasurer’s Office. Cook has worked on campaigns for the Kansas legislature and United States House of Representatives, Overland Park City Council, and as an advocate for Kansas Public Schools. Cook has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
